Vernal's title comes from the term "vernal pool" which are ephemeral spring pools where amphibians spawn their young. These pools are becoming fewer and fewer as development and climate changes negatively affect habitat. Here, a video projected on the main gallery wall shows a bog in a remediated nuclear superfund site that rustles and chirrups with crickets, cicadas and frogs. On the floor of the gallery a shaped mirror reflects the video and light.
